School Update
We are working tirelessly to support our parents and families throughout this very difficult time, and rest assured we are doing everything we can to safeguard our pupils. We are currently embarking on a period of “deep clean” due to the high percentage of staff and pupils who have been or are self isolating. We do not know when this will be completed, as our site is extensive, and we are including our kitchen and dining facilities as we understand how the coronavirus can be spread.
We already have a plan which may be implemented earlier, if possible, to support those identified as most vulnerable and those parents who are both key workers.
We plan to open an activity programme starting w/c 30th March, should we be able to start this earlier we will endeavour to do so. This programme will be limited to those pupils who have been identified, this is only due to the fact that we are coping with a continued high number of staff who are unable to work for various reasons, including self isolation.
As the SLT, we will work as normal during the deep clean to finalise this programme, staff the options available and contact both parents and the Local Authority to ensure all information is shared.
Even though we are providing an activity programme, we ask parents to remember that the overarching advice from the government is “if it is at all possible for children to be at home, then they should be”.
We thank all our staff for their incredible work this week, in the most challenging of circumstances, and we thank our parents for their overwhelming support and acknowledgement of the work we are all doing to keep Northcott safe.
